Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Tyler, Texas

Shift: 3x12 hour nights
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse

  • Patient Ratio: 1:4
  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years preferred in specialty
  • Travel Experience: Not accepting first-time travelers (prior travel experience required)

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, MAB, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI as applicable

Required Licensure

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Texas
  • Primary source online license verification required

Health & Compliance Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
  • Adult Tdap vaccine within 10 years (no declinations except approved medical exemptions)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Required immunizations or positive titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season

Background & Documentation

  • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Education verification (highest level) required
  • Work history verification for 7 years
  • Skills checklist specific to unit, updated annually
  • Photo for badge required
  • Driver’s license or state ID required
  • E-Verify compliance

Additional Notes

  • Candidates residing in certain Texas counties are not eligible for this assignment.
  • Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required.
  • Must complete employment application/resume.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NRP certification
  • CHEMO certification
  • TNCC certification
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • State License 1 Verification
  • NURSYS Verification
