Overview
- Temp Registered Nurse (RN) role in Des Moines, Iowa
- 13-week contract
- Nights shift
- 16-hour NBO
- 14-bed unit
- Patient types include Peds Hem/Onc, Med Surg, and all Pediatric specialties
- May float across NICU, B3 gen floor, PICU, and to ED for inpatient holds
- Staffing ratio: 1:2-4
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Pediatrics experience
- Pediatric Med Surg (2 years of experience)
- Pediatric Med Surg experience within the last year
- Hematology / Oncology experience
- Experience with Epic
- One completed travel assignment
- Driver's License
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- APHON
Preferred
- Professional reference or reference check from a charge, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
Other Notes
- No locals; candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver’s license
- Past employees of the health system’s FTE or PRN float pool cannot work travel in another market
- If the unit is not closed, contractor must work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day
- Orientation dates: 12/21, 1/4, 1/18
