Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatrics Unit
Location: Brattleboro, Vermont
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work on a Pediatrics Unit; must be comfortable and highly experienced in pediatric nursing.
- Start date is mandatory on January 5th; no exceptions.
- Provide care within a Co-Occurring Disorders Inpatient Treatment Program offering 24-hour care focused on sobriety and managing co-occurring psychiatric issues (e.g., Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders).
- Utilize the nursing process to meet complex patient needs.
- Provide clinical supervision of Mental Health Workers (MHWs) to ensure safe and therapeutic care.
- Must be willing to float to other units and take charge shifts.
Requirements
- Recent pediatrics experience within the last 3 months is required.
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience, with inpatient psychiatric experience within the last 3 months (LTC experience not accepted).
- Pediatric Psych/Behavioral Health experience and specific age groups must be clearly listed on the resume.
- Will consider first-time travelers.
- Resume must include psych experience with age groups (e.g., Psych RN - Facility - (AGE GROUP/POPULATION) - DATES).
- Return to Office (RTO) cannot exceed 7 days.
- Psych skills checklist completed within the last year.
- Two supervisory references from the last 2 years of employment.
- Certifications do not need to be active at submission but candidate must be willing to obtain them. CPI certification preferred; if not active, 8 hours of non-billable orientation will be required onsite.
- Must confirm willingness and eligibility to obtain required licenses.
- Driver’s license or candidate’s address must be included in submission (candidates living within 35 miles of the facility will have a rate adjustment).

- Must have an active Vermont nursing license at time of submission.
Additional Information
- Scheduling requests must be included with submission.
- Orientation: 0 hours non-billable if CPI is active; 8 hours non-billable if CPI is not active.
- Cancellation policy allows up to 3 shift cancellations per 13 weeks.
- Locals accepted, but rate adjustment applies if residing within 35 miles.
