Position Details

• Hours: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Job Description

The RN will care for a variety of patients, including:

• CP rule out
• STEMI, NSTEMI
• Post CABG, post thoracotomy
• Post peripheral vascular surgery/procedure
• Respiratory failure with BIPAP or Airvo
• Dysrhythmias or blood pressures requiring IV intervention and monitoring
• CHF, sepsis, etc.

Post Cardiac Cath Lab patients are recovered on the unit, and nursing is responsible for the management of arterial sheaths. Pressors or IV infusions are not titrated on the CVCU.

Submission Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience (Required)
• Must float to Med/Surg or ER to take CVCU/Med Surg holds (Required)
• MUST HAVE CARDIAC EXPERIENCE (not just ICU) (Required)
• Flexibility required (No block scheduling)
• Recent traveler experience is highly preferred

• Work History
• Skills Checklist (Cardiac ICU Checklist), current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty
• 2 Supervisory Reference Forms, taken within the last two years
• Licensure & Certifications:

  • Oklahoma State License or compact
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • NIHSS

Certification Requirements

State License Requirements

Additional Information

• Orientation for nursing travelers starts on Thursdays.
• Travelers will complete approximately 6 hours of modules prior to starting.
• Local candidates within 50 miles of Comanche County will be considered at a reduced rate.
