Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 9:00 AM – 9:30 PM


Job Summary

  • Provide nursing care based on biological, physical, and psycho-social sciences.
  • Deliver, coordinate, and delegate nursing care to patients, families, and the community.
  • Manage resources to attain, maintain, and restore optimum health.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Required Onboarding & Compliance

  • Nursing license verification and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists completed within one year and updated annually.
  • Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals, and OSHA topics completed within 90 days of start and updated annually.
  • Fit test for N95 respirators (3M 1870+ N95, Medline Cone Small, 3M 1860 Reg & Small) within one year and updated annually.
  • Pre-employment physical with health statement confirming ability to perform essential job functions safely.
  • Immunization and health requirements:
    • MMR (titer or 2 vaccines; no declinations accepted).
    • Hepatitis B (titer or complete vaccine series; signed declinations accepted).
    • Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines; no declinations accepted).
    • 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with no declinations accepted.
    • Annual TB questionnaire.
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually.
  • Criminal background check (FCRA compliant, 7-year search plus SSN trace and multiple jurisdiction checks) within 90 days of start.
  • OIG, EPLS, and education verifications within 90 days of start.
  • Valid government-issued photo ID and Social Security card or number required.

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
  • COVID-19 vaccination is strongly encouraged but optional; medical or religious exemptions considered case-by-case.
  • Influenza vaccine required October through April with approved exemptions.

This position requires a professional nurse with solid PACU experience, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work in a physically demanding and dynamic environment.
