Registered Nurse (RN) Mother/Baby - Post Partum
Location: Providence, Rhode Island
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 14 weeks)
Schedule: Flexible, 32 hours per week (8-hour shifts, 5 days a week, no variations)
Home Unit: Post Partum
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC proficiency required
Job Description
Provide patient-centered nursing care in collaboration with families according to ANA Standards, including assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation in the Post Partum unit.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Rhode Island
- Minimum 5 years of Maternal-Newborn nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
Certifications and Compliance Requirements (Must be completed prior to or at onboarding)
- BLS and NRP certifications (AHA or ARC accepted)
- Nursing license primary source verification and Nursys verification
- Fingerprinting completed in Rhode Island within 30 days of start
- COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical exemption
- Immunizations or positive titers for MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Hepatitis B (vaccination series or declination; titers not accepted for Hepatitis B)
- Influenza vaccine documentation (optional but recommended)
- Fit testing for N95 masks within one year of start
- Two-step PPD skin test or one IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) within the last year; if positive, negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
- Criminal background check (Federal, County, National, Statewide with OIG, NSO, GSA/SAM searches) within 6 months of start
- Employment verification for the last 5 years
- Completion of required skills checklists and competency exams specific to the specialty
- BSN diploma or transcripts required
- Professional references including at least one supervisory reference
- Completion of confidentiality agreement and other onboarding documentation
Additional Information
- No contract extensions available
- Neutral background badge photo required for ID badge
- All required forms and testing must be completed and uploaded prior to start
- Must comply with annual COVID and flu policy forms
Contract Length
Approximately 14 weeks (3.5 months)
