Registered Nurse (RN) Mother/Baby - Post Partum

Location: Providence, Rhode Island
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 14 weeks)
Schedule: Flexible, 32 hours per week (8-hour shifts, 5 days a week, no variations)
Home Unit: Post Partum
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC proficiency required

Job Description

Provide patient-centered nursing care in collaboration with families according to ANA Standards, including assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation in the Post Partum unit.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Rhode Island
• Minimum 5 years of Maternal-Newborn nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR system

Certifications and Compliance Requirements (Must be completed prior to or at onboarding)

• BLS and NRP certifications (AHA or ARC accepted)
• Nursing license primary source verification and Nursys verification
• Fingerprinting completed in Rhode Island within 30 days of start
• COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical exemption
• Immunizations or positive titers for MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Hepatitis B (vaccination series or declination; titers not accepted for Hepatitis B)
• Influenza vaccine documentation (optional but recommended)
• Fit testing for N95 masks within one year of start
• Two-step PPD skin test or one IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) within the last year; if positive, negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
• Criminal background check (Federal, County, National, Statewide with OIG, NSO, GSA/SAM searches) within 6 months of start
• Employment verification for the last 5 years
• Completion of required skills checklists and competency exams specific to the specialty
• BSN diploma or transcripts required
• Professional references including at least one supervisory reference
• Completion of confidentiality agreement and other onboarding documentation

Additional Information

• No contract extensions available
• Neutral background badge photo required for ID badge
• All required forms and testing must be completed and uploaded prior to start
• Must comply with annual COVID and flu policy forms

Contract Length

Approximately 14 weeks (3.5 months)
