Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Job Summary

Registered Nurses provide nursing care to patients and their families following professional nursing standards. This role involves primary nursing care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care in the Emergency Room setting.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required for RN positions
• Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) / Emergency Room RN experience, including experience within the last year
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Rhode Island
• Emergency Medicine experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Proficient in English
• Ability to assist patients with mobility (lifting with assistance, transporting in wheelchairs or stretchers)
• Must complete criminal background checks and fingerprinting as required by state regulations
• Must complete skills checklist and competency exams related to nursing specialty
• Must provide professional references, including at least one supervisory reference
• Must have a valid driver’s license or state ID
• COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical exemption
• Influenza vaccine (required during flu season)
• Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination (titers not accepted)
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – proof of 2 immunizations or positive titer
• Varicella – proof of 2 immunizations or positive titer
• Tdap immunization within the last 10 years
• TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within the last year; if positive, negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
• Current N95 mask fit test (specific approved models)
• COVID and flu vaccination policies must be adhered to annually

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• This is a night shift position (36 hours per week).

This position requires a dedicated Emergency Room RN with strong clinical skills, current licensure, and compliance with all health and safety protocols.
