Overview

• Location: Salem, Massachusetts
• Employment type: LTA
• Shift: Nights, 19:00 - 07:30
• Schedule: Every other weekend
• Hours: 36 hours
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit

• Unit Name: Level III Trauma Center
• Unit type: 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (MICU)
• Floating: Required, mostly to Medical/Surgical units

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• Experience in a Critical Care setting
• Experience reading telemetry strips
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association

Preferred

• Preferably a MICU

Patient Population

• Adult patients with a wide range of diagnoses, including Substance Abuse/Overdose, severe Psychiatric conditions, DKA, Sepsis, GI bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, and Cardiogenic Shock

Additional Notes

• RN-to-patient ratio: 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other Med/Surg areas
• Attendings and Residents are present in the ICU 24 hours/day
• Free on-site parking
