Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a 32-bed Orthopedic/Neuro Med/Surg unit with medical overflow patients.
• Unit includes 16 beds in one area and 16 beds in another.
• Floating to other applicable units is required when requested.
• Rotating shifts for day positions (7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a) with low rotation frequency; night positions do not rotate.
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.
• Patient ratio:

  • Day and evening shifts: 1:4 (may go up to 1:5)
  • Night shift: 1:5 or 1:6
• Patient population includes scheduled elective orthopedic and neuro/surgical patients, fractures, neuro patients, and medical overflow.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts.
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
