Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Technologist (Travel)
Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a high acuity Cath Lab environment including:
- RHC, RHC with EMBX
- Heart Failure cases
- Left Heart Catheterization (LHC)
- Some peripheral and pulmonary embolism procedures
- Structural heart procedures including TAVRs, Clips, etc.
- Use of IABP and Impella devices
Required Qualifications
- License: Current and valid license for Cath Lab Technologist in Texas (must be verified within 30 days prior to assignment start)
- Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association) required
- Exams & Competencies:
- Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% passing score, max 2 attempts)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% passing score)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical competency, updated annually)
- Health & Immunizations:
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
- Varicella: Proof of immunity or two vaccines (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Fit Test: Required annually (preferred prior to start)
- Background & Verification:
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (within 30 days of assignment start)
- Employment verification for past 7 years
- Education verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days of start)
- Professional references: At least two required prior to first assignment
- Drug Screening:
- 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, including MRO review for prescriptions or negative-dilute results
- Other:
- Driver’s License or State ID (must be current and valid)
- Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
