Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery (Travel)

Job Details

Required Credentials & Certifications

• BLS (Must be AHA certified)
• ACLS (Must be AHA certified)
• Fetal Monitoring (If not covered on competency exam, must have AWHONN, Relias, or equivalent within past 2 years)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program, AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics)

Licenses & Verifications

• Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
• Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• Driver's License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements)

Onboarding & Competency Requirements

• Ascension Color Vision test (completed prior to start, updated every 3 years)
• Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start, updated yearly, minimum 80% score)
• Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
• Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (done onsite)
• Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules
• Ascension Cerner Test-Out (competency exam)
• Ascension Badge Photo (professional headshot, white or blue background)
• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, completed within one year of start, updated annually)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
• Positive PPD with Negative Chest X-Ray and annual TB Questionnaire OR 2 Step PPD or IGRA testing (within required timeframes)
• Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferred prior to start, updated annually
• 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start, updated annually

Professional & Background Checks

• Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile)
• At least two professional references prior to first assignment
• Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (completed within 30 days of first assignment, updated annually)
• Employment Verification for past 7 years (third-party verification required)
• Education Verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days of start)
• Ascension EPLS (Exclusionary Provider List System) check within 90 days of start
• Confirmation of Assignment documentation (agency letterhead with start/end dates)

Additional Notes

• Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• Some optional checklists and evaluations may be required by the facility/unit leader
• Compliance with all credentialing and onboarding requirements is mandatory for assignment start and continuation

This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs who meet the credentialing and licensing requirements and are comfortable with travel assignments and weekend rotations.
