Ultrasound Technician (Travel)

Location: Cooperstown, New York
Contract Length: 4 weeks

Job Overview

• Position in the Sonography Department providing high-quality ultrasound imaging services.
• Focus on general and specialized vascular ultrasound studies.
• Experience in interventional radiology (IR) preferred.
• Work within an IAC-accredited Non-Invasive Vascular Lab.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of vascular ultrasound studies independently, including:

  • Upper and lower extremity venous duplex studies
  • Upper and lower extremity arterial duplex studies
  • Carotid duplex studies
  • Bypass graft studies
  • Mesenteric artery duplex studies
  • Renal artery duplex studies
  • Upper and lower extremity vein mapping duplex studies
  • Fistula flow studies
  • Venous reflux studies
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule:

  • 1 weekday evening on-call every other week
  • 1 weekend on-call approximately every fifth week
• May provide services at additional locations including hospital sites, outpatient clinics, and outreach centers.

Required Certifications

• ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Preferred Certifications

• RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) preferred but not required.

Competency & Assessment

• Must demonstrate high competency and proficiency across all vascular and general ultrasound studies.
• Skills assessment and detailed experience documentation required for submission.

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific core competencies, unit exams, and skills checklists.
• Compliance with personal health history requirements including:

  • MMR, Fit Test, Hepatitis B, Influenza Vaccine, TB Test, Varicella, Annual TB Questionnaire, Physical/Health Statement, Drug Screen.
• Professional documentation including:

  • Driver's License/State ID
  • Professional references, criminal background check, resume, education verification, employment verification, and various security and compliance forms.

This position is ideal for sonographers with strong vascular ultrasound skills seeking a travel assignment in a well-established vascular lab environment with a structured on-call rotation.
