Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care

Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel

Contract Details

• Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Hours: Guaranteed 48 hours per week; overtime after 48 hours
• Call Requirements: May be low censused and placed on call; minimum 2-hour callback
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and every other holiday

Unit Information

• Observation Unit / Inpatient
• 8-bed unit with 2 RNs per shift
• Patient ratio: 1:4
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• High admission and discharge volume
• Patient conditions include anemia, cellulitis, COPD, CHF, dehydration, pre-op, urology, GI, and drips (Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin)
• Average patient stay up to 48 hours

Required Qualifications

• License: Wisconsin RN License
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in nursing
• Travel Experience: At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Charting: EPIC experience required
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips; EKG exam required during compliance

Additional Information

• Must be located outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
• Scrub colors: any color allowed
• Eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours; call-back pay applies if called in during these hours
• Flu and COVID vaccination policy: Travelers declining vaccination must wear a mask at all times during flu season per facility policy (mandatory compliance)
