Job Opportunity: Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Travel)

Location: Albany, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks (open to 8 or 17 weeks)
Shift: 12-hour day shifts (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week (not guaranteed during orientation week)
Orientation: Biweekly, first week day shift

Job Details

• Position: MedSurg Float Pool RN
• Float Requirements: Float to all acute care and cardiology units, and Emergency Center for acute care patient holds. Mid-shift floats are uncommon and only for emergent needs. Potential float to North Campus (1.8 miles away).
• Weekend Requirements: Rotate every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Must work 2 out of 3 holidays
• On Call/Call Back: Rare
• Break: 30 minutes

Experience & Education Requirements

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical
• Minimum Experience: 2 years solid experience on a Medical-Surgical unit
• Travel Experience: Preferred but not explicitly required
• Recent Experience Required: Sickle Cell and PIV insertion
• Education: Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Certifications Required:

  • GA or compact RN license
  • AHA BLS
  • AHA NIHSS
• Preferred Certification: AHA ACLS

Additional Information

• Patient Ratios: 1:6 for both day and night shifts
• Nurse Aides: CNAs ratio generally 1:8 to 1:10, sometimes used as sitters
• EMR System: Meditech Expanse (experience preferred but not required; training provided)
• Uniform: Caribbean blue or white scrub
