Employment Type: Long Term Contract (13 weeks)

Job Details

• Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Unit: 32-bed flex unit (intermediate and general care)
• Patient Population:

  • Oncology patients needing surgical intervention
  • Benign surgical patients including ear, nose and throat, colorectal, OB/GYN, urology, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, thoracic
  • Patients under plastic surgeon management
  • Cancers requiring surgery except brain or lung cancers
• Staffing Ratio: 1 RN to 4 patients
• Schedule:

  • 12-hour day/night shifts
  • 3 out of 4 holidays and 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule
  • Self-scheduling
  • Every other week (EOW) schedule
• Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips
  • Will be required to float to areas of equal or lesser care
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be approved prior to confirmation; no additional time off during assignment

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips

• Contract length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
