Job Opportunity: Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Therapy Annex

Location: Urbana, Illinois

Job Description

  • Collect and integrate case history information from patients, families, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Select and administer appropriate evaluation procedures tailored to patient needs.
  • Recognize and respect the communication preferences, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of patients and their support systems.
  • Conduct assessments for speech and language pathology, including feeding and swallowing impairments.
  • Use or develop appropriate materials and tools for prevention and intervention.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care with measurable goals.
  • Collaborate with patients and relevant parties in treatment planning.
  • Interpret and synthesize assessment data to create treatment plans and recommendations.
  • Administer standardized testing to evaluate functional levels against age-related norms.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home programs and activities.
  • Coordinate treatment interventions with pediatric physical and occupational therapists.
  • Complete daily documentation and billing in therapy electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Fulfill annual clinical ladder requirements for senior status, including student supervision, approved projects, and in-service training.

Contract Length

  • Approximately 26 weeks (about 6 months).

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in a related field.
  • Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) credential from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
