Job Description
- Collect and integrate case history information from patients, families, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals.
- Select and administer appropriate evaluation procedures tailored to patient needs.
- Recognize and respect the communication preferences, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of patients and their support systems.
- Conduct assessments for speech and language pathology, including feeding and swallowing impairments.
- Use or develop appropriate materials and tools for prevention and intervention.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care with measurable goals.
- Collaborate with patients and relevant parties in treatment planning.
- Interpret and synthesize assessment data to create treatment plans and recommendations.
- Administer standardized testing to evaluate functional levels against age-related norms.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home programs and activities.
- Coordinate treatment interventions with pediatric physical and occupational therapists.
- Complete daily documentation and billing in therapy electronic medical records (EMR).
- Fulfill annual clinical ladder requirements for senior status, including student supervision, approved projects, and in-service training.
Contract Length
- Approximately 26 weeks (about 6 months).
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a related field.
- Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) credential from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
