RN - ICU Step Down

Location: Bronx, New York
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: Approximately 14 weeks (96 days)


Job Summary

  • Provide care for patients transitioning out of the ICU who require more attention than those on a general medical-surgical unit.
  • Monitor patients using medical equipment such as catheters, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators, and cardiac monitors.
  • Maintain an RN-to-patient ratio of 1:4, caring for patients ranging from young adults to geriatric.
  • Perform frequent patient assessments and escalate changes in medical condition appropriately.
  • Respond to cardiac arrest and rapid response codes.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New York
  • Minimum 1 year of Stepdown nursing experience, with Stepdown experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
