Job Summary

As a CT Technologist, you will perform computerized tomography scans under the supervision of radiologists to produce diagnostic images. You will assist radiologists during procedures, supervise student radiologic technologists, and maintain good patient and customer relations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure patient care and safety during imaging procedures, using age-appropriate care and following established protocols.
• Perform CT imaging procedures efficiently, minimizing repeat exams and managing supplies cost-effectively.
• Prepare and instruct patients about imaging procedures, assist with informed consent, and communicate effectively with patients and families.
• Verify correct orders, diagnoses, and clinical history; communicate clearly with radiologists and maintain professional demeanor.
• Adhere to safety policies, radiation protection guidelines (ALARA principles), and complete mandatory in-services.
• Assist other imaging team members and departments as needed; demonstrate flexibility, accountability, and initiative to improve operations.
• May be required to work under stressful conditions, irregular hours, weekends, holidays, and take call as needed.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and handling up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent use of hand/finger dexterity and reaching.
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, radiation, toxic chemicals, and blood-borne pathogens.
• Work environment ranges from quiet to moderate noise levels.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiology Technologist license in South Carolina.
• Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
• ARRT or SCRQSA certification.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to teach CT exams.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations.

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to perform and teach CT exams to produce quality diagnostic images preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment.

Contract Length

• Approximately 13 weeks.
