Travel RN - Cardiac Telemetry
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must specify on submission)
- Number of Openings: 2
- Call Requirements: None
- Weekend Hours: As required by facility
- Float Requirements: Rotational basis
Licensure & Certifications
- Required Licensure: Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (AHA only)
- 4 trauma credits (must have or complete within first 2 weeks)
- NIHSS (must obtain prior to start if not submitted)
- Preferred Certification: ACLS (AHA only)
Experience Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in Cardiac Telemetry, inpatient only
- Skills: Experience and competence in drug titration required
- Prior Travel Experience: Not specified / not required
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Cardiac/Med Surg
- Number of Beds: 32
- Patient Ratios:
- Days: 1:5 to 1:6
- Nights: 1:6 to 1:8 (estimates)
- Equipment: Alaris pumps, telemetry, lift equipment
- EMR System: EPIC
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
- Utilize nursing process for patients post trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities
- Maintain professional accountability and evaluate care effectiveness
- Work within Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
Physical & Work Environment
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- May work varying schedules and shifts as needed
- Exposure to blood and body fluids
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, crawling
Additional Information
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 - April 1 (no declinations accepted)
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability
- Flexible scheduling options available but must be indicated on submission
- Dress code: Black scrubs; no torn clothes or open-toed shoes
