Position Details

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Med Surg / Neuroscience
• Shift: Night (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours (36 or 48 hours available upon request)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
• Number of Openings: 2
• Weekend Hours: As needed; standard expectation of every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• Call Requirements: None
• Requested Time Off: Up to 5 days per 13-week contract automatically approved; additional time off requires leader approval and must be made up
• Holiday Work: Expected to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day)

Unit Information

• Department: Medical Surgical Unit / Neuroscience
• Patient Population: Neuro-surgical patients including those with stroke, seizures, MS, back/head/spinal neurological diagnoses, and post-neurosurgery care
• Patient Ratios: 1:5-6
• EMR System: EPIC
• Equipment: FIT test required on site

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year inpatient acute care experience in Med Surg and Neuro required
• Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required
• Skills:

  • Willingness to occasionally serve as Charge Nurse
  • Ability to float within scope as needed
• Personality Fit: Professional accountability, teamwork, and patient-centered care
