Job Opportunity: RN - Emergency Department

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel (Contract)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RN) for night shift (7 PM - 7 AM) in a very high acuity emergency department. The nurse practices independently, providing routine and complex care, managing clinical situations, and making appropriate assignments and delegations.

Patient Population

High acuity cases including strokes, cardiovascular issues, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis
Some trauma cases (not a trauma-designated unit)
Security onsite 24/7

Work Schedule

Night shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
Every other weekend required
No on-call or floating requirements
Nurse to patient ratio: 4:1

Required Licenses & Certifications

RN License in Louisiana or compact license
BLS (Basic Life Support)
Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Experience Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty (Emergency Department or similar) (highest required years of experience applied)
Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Orientation & Onboarding

New experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire
Preceptorship by trained staff with competency validations, including Emergency Department-specific competencies
Newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency or specific orientation program
Annual competency verification required
