Position Details

• Specialty: CST/ORT (Certified Surgical Technologist / Operating Room Technician)
• Location: Salem, Virginia
• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit Name: First Assist
• Number of Beds: 10 main OR beds
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Staffing: Each room staffed with 1 circulator and 1 scrub tech
• Equipment: Operating Room equipment including advanced technology such as DaVinci and MAKO total joint systems
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling: 10-hour shifts with rotating call on weeknights and weekends
• Floating Policy: No floating
• Dress Code: Scrubs provided

Required Skills & Experience

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • OR First Assist Certification
  • Licensed First Assistant with Board of Medicine in Virginia
• Skill Set: Proficient in Orthopedics, DaVinci robotic surgery, Neurosurgery, and Orthopedic trauma
• Advanced Procedures Performed: Craniotomy, spine fusion, liver resection, Whipple procedure, MAKO total joint replacement
