Unit Information

  • Number of Beds: 18
  • Number of Staff: 35
  • Staffing (Example):
    • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
    • Night Shift: CNC + 8 staff
  • Patient Ratio: 1:2
  • Type of Equipment: Critical Care
  • EMR System: Meditech

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Medication Titration
  • Critical Care Competencies
  • Restraints Management
  • Ventilator Management

Preferred Skills

  • Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
  • Impella / Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)

Typical Procedures

  • Ventilator management
  • Critical care procedures including titratable medications, Arctic Sun, restraints

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIH Certification

Licenses
