Unit Information

• Unit: Neuro (Med Surg/Neuro)
• Number of Beds: 38
• Number of Staff: 55
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1, sometimes 5:1 due to staffing
• Shift Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 2 charge nurses (without patients), 4-5:1 RN ratio, 2 PCT
  • Night Shift: 1-2 charge nurses (depending on staffing), 4-5:1 RN ratio, 2 PCT
• Equipment: IV pumps, seizure monitoring, Bi-pap, C-pap (mostly at night), glucometer
• EMR System: Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse License
• BLS Certification
• NIH Certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med Surg/Neuro specialty

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS Certification
• Neuro experience

Typical Procedures

• NIH/stroke assessments and neuro assessments
• Fall risk assessment
• Trach care
• Feeding tube management

• Competitive market; candidates with neuro experience preferred
• Emphasis on teamwork and critical thinking
