Location: Birmingham, Alabama

Position Details

Specialty: Lab Tech (Generalist)
Role: Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Laboratory Scientist
Number of Openings: 1
Shift:
- 8 on / 6 off, Wednesday to Wednesday
- Night shift: 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Evening shift: 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
Call Requirements: None
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Medical Laboratory Technician with a minimum of 1 year of experience within the last year
Medical Laboratory Scientist experience
ASCP or AMT certification required
Experience in Coagulation
Experience in Urinalysis
Experience in Hematology

Work Environment

Unit: Hospital Laboratory (2nd floor)
Patient Contact: None
Equipment Used:
- Beckman AU 5822 and 5812
- Beckman DxI 600
- Sysmex XN 1000 and SP-10
- Beckman Iris
- Siemens 2500
- Ortho Vision Swift
EMR System: Cerner

Additional Information

Personality Fit:
- Evening shift open to all personalities
- Night shift requires a strong, self-sufficient personality
Dress Code:
- Scrubs allowed in any color except navy, cranberry, black, hunter, ceil, royal, gray, purple, or teal
- No artificial or gel nails
- No headdress unless for religious purposes

No prior travel experience is required for this position.
