Job Description

This position is primarily on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit within a multi-specialty setting. The nurse must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed. The unit offers 36 hours per week with holiday shifts as required and every other weekend coverage.

The unit specializes in medical and surgical care, including patients requiring dialysis, telemetry monitoring, orthopedic procedures (fractures, shoulders, backs), and general surgery (appendectomy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, colon resection). The nurse/patient ratio is approximately 1:6, supported by a team leader.

Focus areas include pain management, mobility, prevention of complications, and providing a safe, comfortable, and patient-centered environment.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum of 1 year of telemetry experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
