Job Description
Join a dynamic multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team focused on helping patients recover functional ability and independence after acute hospital stays. Patients include those recovering from stroke, hip fracture, and pulmonary conditions. The rehab unit provides 24-hour medical monitoring and care by physiatrists, nurse practitioners/physician assistants, and rehab nurses. Providers round daily during patient stays.
Rehabilitation equipment includes:
- Body weight support systems for safe walking recovery
- Treadmills for maximum repetitions
- Dynavision machine for improving reaction time and visual processing
- Simulation vehicle for practicing getting in and out for rides home
Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals. Work schedule options include 36 or 48 hours per week, with holidays as required and every other weekend.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in rehabilitation nursing specialty
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) or Red Cross CPR certification
