Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Med Surg Telemetry experience to provide quality healthcare in a Level III Trauma Center. The position involves working on a medical-surgical unit with telemetry monitoring, serving patients of all ages.

Unit Information

• Unit: Medical Surgical Combination 2 (Med Surg Telemetry)
• Shift: See shift details (36 guaranteed weekly hours)
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
• Call Requirements: As needed
• Float: Possibility to float to similar med/surg units
• Patient Population: All ages
• Equipment: Omnicell medication dispensing system
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current certifications prior to start:

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
• Healthcare Worker Certification (HWC)
• Completion of Code of Conduct Orientation
• Telemetry Skills Self-Assessment completed
• Fit Test clearance
• Immunizations and testing required:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • TB Testing
  • TDAP Vaccine / TD Booster
  • Varicella

Skills and Experience

• Must have Med Surg Telemetry experience
• IV insertion skills required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, professional environment

Additional Information

• Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
• Travel candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify
• Patient ratios and number of beds not specified
• Facility is fully accredited and has a strong community presence
