Job Overview

Contract length: 13 weeks
Hours per week: 36
Unit: Maternal Infant Unit
Shift schedule: Every third weekend; 12 hours of call per 4-week schedule

Unit Details

Bed count: 24
Staffing: 71 staff members
Typical patient ratios: Labor 1:1 most of the time; postpartum 5–6:1; nursery 5–6:1
Common procedures/care: Vaginal deliveries, C-sections, antepartum care, newborn care, postpartum care
Equipment: GE fetal monitors

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
Maternal-Newborn experience within the last year
2 years of Maternal-Newborn experience
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
2 years of labor experience
Labor and Delivery experience
Nursery experience
BLS
ACLS
NRP
AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification

Preferred Experience

2+ years of labor experience with LDRP and high birth volumes
