Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Assignment

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel


Unit & Work Environment

  • Unit: 4th Floor / Neuro
  • Beds: Currently 18, expanding to 30
  • Patient Ratios: 6-7 patients per nurse
  • Team nursing approach with techs on unit; unit secretaries available
  • Documentation system: Meditech
  • Equipment: Standard Med Surg equipment
  • Scheduling: Must work 4 weekend shifts every 4-week period; scheduled according to facility policy
  • Floating: Required to float to like units as needed
  • Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees
  • Must perform hourly safety rounds and bedside shift report with patients
  • Dress code: Navy-colored uniform required

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in South Carolina
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification (can be obtained on-site)

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
