Unit: Peds Step-Down-4CN
Shift: 7A–7P
36 hours per week
Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit Details

36 private rooms with parent sleeping accommodations
4th Floor, C Building
Mixed care pediatric step-down unit
Typical patient ratios:
- Step-down patients: 1:3
- Basic care patients: 1:4
Equipment includes Phillips Monitors
EMR: Meditech

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Colorado
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Pediatric PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
Pediatric PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
Pediatrics experience
BLS
NRP
PALS

Preferred Qualifications

Prior Meditech experience
Multiple years of traveling experience

Unit Procedures

NGTs
Foleys
TP Tubes
PIVs
Phlebotomy
LPs may occur rarely

Scheduling and Assignment Notes

New travelers on their first contract will not be placed on day shift and must be willing to work nights
Scheduling flexibility is emphasized
The unit takes everything except trauma and burns
