Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Night Shift

• Shift Length: 12-hour shifts
• Hours per week: 36 hours guaranteed
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Patient population: Adults and geriatrics
• Unit beds: 28
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Night shift 1:5; Charge nurse 1:10 (charge nurse takes assignment)
• Nurse aide/patient care tech ratio: 1:10
• Floating: May float to ER for 1:1 patient care
• Orientation: Classroom orientation plus one 12-hour shift on the floor
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs provided
• Scheduling: Scheduler assigns shifts; no block scheduling
• Weekend and holiday requirements vary based on need

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of unit experience in Med Surg nursing
• Current RN license
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (preferred)
• NIHSS certification
• Must pass a 90% score on a pass/fail open book exam during orientation (resources provided)
• Valid driver’s license required at time of application (used to verify candidate is within 50-mile radius)
• Compliance with fingernail policy: artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas; refusal to comply results in contract termination

Additional Information

• Candidates must not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with a specific large healthcare system within a 50-mile radius
• Return to office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO extensions allowed
