Travel RN Opportunity: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry (PCU Float Pool)
Location: Prescott, Arizona
Job Details
- Specialty: Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, PCU Float Pool
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 7am - 7pm
- Schedule: 4-week schedules with self-scheduling (finalized by manager)
- Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per 4-week schedule
- Holiday Requirement: Work 2 days and an evening or 2 evenings and a day during Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, and Thanksgiving
- Call/Standby: None required
- Floating: Yes, may float to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified
- Orientation: 1 shift on the unit (includes EOW, nights, first to float)
Experience & Certifications
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS
- Required Experience:
- Minimum 2 years recent Medical/Surgical and Telemetry experience
- Minimum 1 year PCU experience
- Additional Requirements:
- Current state nursing license
- Must pass dysrhythmia exam with at least 80% within two attempts prior to contract signing
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Unit Information
- Unit: Telemetry - Cardiac/Medical, 3rd Floor
- Beds: 49
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Nurse Aide Ratio: 1:10-15
- Common Diagnoses: CHF, COVID, respiratory issues, GI, diabetes, telemetry patients, post catheterization, total joint replacement
- Skills:
- Reading basic telemetry strips
- Experience with CVA and TIA patients
- Cerner experience recommended (only one day orientation)
- Total joint replacement experience preferred
- RN Responsibilities:
- Interpret telemetry strips and sign at least once per shift
- No drip titration required (Diltiazem/Cardizem drips at set rate)
- Respiratory Equipment: BiPAP, CPAP, breathing treatments
Additional Notes
- Radius rule: Candidates must live within 50 miles and cannot have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI or Dignity) within the past year
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
