Job Opportunity: IR Technologist (Interventional Radiology)

Location

• Peoria, Illinois
• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• 9-hour shifts, 4 days per week
• Day shift (8 hours per day, 40 hours per week)
• Call required: 7-9 shifts in 6 weeks (weeknights, weekends, holidays)
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• No floating; assigned to either cath lab or IR

Department Details

• Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech, separate from EP and cath lab
• 6 procedure labs/suites
• Average 20-30 cases per day
• Charge RN present 07:30-17:00 (does not take patients, assists with cases and lunch coverage)
• 1 Patient Care Technician (PCT) on IR Tech team
• Unit-specific orientation: 3-5 days in the lab
• Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours

Job Duties

• Scrub during procedures
• Pass supplies
• Set up and take down procedure rooms

Patient Types / Diagnoses

• Vascular, neuro, drains, lines

Equipment / EMR

• EPIC electronic medical records system
• Phillips monitors

Required Certifications & Licenses

• ARRT certification
• BLS certification
• Active Illinois license or confirmation that application process has been initiated

Additional Requirements

• Must comply with a drug-free campus policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
• Submission requires last four digits of SSN, middle initial, and requested time off

Notes

• Local clinicians (within 50 miles) have adjusted rates (not included here)
• Call off policy: Equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks with no penalty or pay deduction
