Required Qualifications
- Active RN role
- 2 years of MS-Tele experience
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- Driver’s license must be submitted
- Must be able to float within the assigned 60-mile zone
Clinical Setting
- Adult and geriatric med-surg telemetry float pool
- May care for patients in general med-surg, cardiac, neuro, oncology, rehab, renal, bariatrics, ortho, trauma, ED observation, and other related areas
- May be assigned to ICU, PCU/stepdown, or MS-Tele depending on need
Responsibilities
- Float throughout the assigned zone
- Titrate heparin drips when needed
Schedule Expectations
- Schedules are released 4–6 weeks in advance
- May be scheduled at a single facility for the week or assigned just-in-time before shift start
- 6–9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
- May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
- Rare call/standby for low census
Orientation
- 1–2 days with a preceptor
- Must be in state for the week of orientation
Additional Notes
- Travelers are responsible for securing housing that allows them to float throughout the full zone
- Any color scrubs are allowed
