Location

• Opelika, Alabama

Contract

• 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour night shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active RN role in Med Surg
• BLS certification
• NIHSS certification for one unit
• Ability to read telemetry strips
• Ability to titrate heparin with pharmacist direction on one unit

Schedule Requirements

• Weekend coverage: 4 shifts every 4 weeks
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating within the medical-surgical division

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5-6
• Two med-surg units with 34 and 36 beds
• No ventilators on either unit
• One unit uses Phillips monitors
• One unit has no tele techs on the floor

Experience / Work Style

• Teamwork and initiative are noted as important on one unit

Orientation

• One unit: 2 shifts on-unit orientation
• Other unit: 1 week of education-center orientation plus 2 assigned-unit shifts
