Overview

Travel assignment for an experienced MedSurg RN in Santa Cruz, California.
Unit: 2W MedSurg
55 beds
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
Holidays: Works into perm staff holiday rotation
Floating: Required between both MedSurg units; travelers have a home base unit
Orientation: 1 shift on each unit, 2 total

Required Qualifications

Active RN license in California
BLS certification
2+ years of experience in MedSurg
Night shift requires 2 years of solid MedSurg experience
Must read EKG strips and be comfortable working with tele patients
Cerner experience
Candidate must have 3-4 years of experience
Strong, humble, fast paced, and positive attitude

Pros

Traveler friendly for sure. I was on the TCU and they have a strong sense of teamwork. Break nurses every shift who are super helpful.

Cons

What management can’t provide, I would say the floor staff makes up for. Cost of living is higher only for lodging, I’m from Alaska and everything else was about the same. If you have a place to stay it’s a perfect gig!!
