Required Qualifications

• RN
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Driver’s license required at submittal
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry
• Must be able to titrate drips
• Must pass an open-book exam during orientation with a score of 90% or higher

Unit Details

• Common patient types include adults, mixed medical/surgical, cardiac, and stroke patients
• Common titratable or set-rate drips include heparin, octreotide, insulin, maintenance dosages of IV meds, Cardizem, and nitro
• Tele monitor techs are on the unit
• Charge nurse is present on each shift
• Nursing assistants/patient care techs are on the unit at a ratio of 1:14
• No unit secretary on the unit
• Specialty equipment includes code carts, LUCAS machines, hoyer lift, and sit-and-stand

Floating

• May float to Med/Surg and other areas of the hospital, including ICU and ED for appropriate patient care

Scheduling / Shift Expectations

• 6 weekend shifts in each 6-week schedule period
• Holidays rotate with permanent staff
• First week is classroom orientation, followed by 2 twelve-hour shifts

Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs

Additional Notes

• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
• RTO must be provided upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
• Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
• Radius rule: 50 miles
