Mammography Technologist - Travel Assignment

Location: Redwood City, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist for a travel assignment in a hospital setting. The role involves working primarily in Radiology with a patient schedule designed to accommodate inpatient and ER cases.

Work Schedule

• 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday (40 hours per week)
• Weekend and holiday coverage may be required depending on proficiency and radiologist approval
• Typical patient scheduling: 1 patient per hour
• Possible shift times vary based on experience and modality proficiency

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist
• Active BLS certification
• Certified Mammography Technologist through ARRT (M)
• Certification and licensure as required by the State of California for Mammography Techs
• COVID-19 vaccination required

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• Tomography training or experience preferred; training available if needed
• Basic Radiologic Technologist skills with Fluoroscopy permit considered a plus
• CT certification and experience highly desirable
• Venipuncture experience is a plus
• Experience working in OR settings is desirable
• Advanced certifications are a plus but not mandatory

Orientation & Training

• Mammography Technologist orientation duration depends on prior experience with tomography
• Other Radiology tech orientations vary from 1 day to 1 week depending on modality experience

Equipment Used

• CT scanners: Siemens 64-slice and 128-slice
• Ultrasound: Phillips equipment

Work Environment

• Hospital patients including ER, OR, inpatient, and outpatient
• EMR system: Cerner
• Radiology team includes coordinators, managers, and supervisors
• Scrubs provided by the hospital

Additional Candidate Requirements

Candidates must provide:

• Initial digital and tomography CE units
• Documentation of 2 years of mammography and tomography CE units
• Prior mammography procedure numbers for the last 2 years
• Active certifications and licenses
