Sonographer – Pediatric Echo
Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (typically 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Job Summary
- Perform pediatric echocardiography and fetal echo imaging.
- Average of 8 scans/studies per day.
- Work primarily inpatient on the pediatric echo unit within a children’s hospital.
- Use Philips EPIQ7 ultrasound equipment.
- Utilize EMR/PACS systems including EPIC and ISCV.
- No IV starts required.
- No weekend, holiday, call, or standby requirements.
- Department-specific orientation provided.
- Scrubs: Light grey scrubs allowed; no need to purchase new scrubs.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer – Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS-PE) certification.
- ARDMS certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Preference for candidates with fetal echo experience.
Additional Information
- Quality is a high priority: submissions require two references, relevant experience, and a clean professional history.
- Candidates must have a driver’s license address located more than 50 miles from the facility.
- Previous permanent candidates must have been away from the facility for at least 2 years before reapplying.
- Previous travelers must have been away for 2 years if they completed a full year on assignment.
- Travel teams must be submitted together.
- Only two candidates can be submitted per opening; additional submissions may be held until a spot opens.
- Individual unit requirements apply as per internal guidelines.
Work Environment
- Reporting to Pediatric Echo Lead Tech.
- No radiologist on-site.
- No Registered Radiology Assistants (RRA) involved.
- Self-scheduling or block scheduling not specified; typical day shift hours apply.
