Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 36 or 48 hours per week
- Night shifts
- Every other weekend and holidays
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of RN experience
- At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
- Level 1 Emergency Room experience required
Required Credentials and Certifications
Licenses & Certifications
- RN License: Primary source verification required within 30 days of start date; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted. Both NURSYS and Board of Nursing verification required.
- BLS Certification: Required for onboarding (AHA preferred; Red Cross accepted).
- MGB Resume: Must include past 7 years of work experience with city and state. Required for submission.
- MGB Skills Checklist: Required for submission.
- References: Two recent references required, at least one must be a supervisor or higher. Required for submission.
- Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start date, including international searches if applicable.
- Massachusetts CORI Check: Within 30 days prior to start date.
- National Sex Offender Check: Within 30 days prior to start date and updated annually.
- Exclusion Checks: OIG, GSA, MassHealth & NH Medicaid exclusion lists within 30 days prior to start and annually.
- Education Verification: Verified through background check company for highest level achieved.
- SSN Trace: Must be run with criminal check covering last 7 years of addresses.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Fit Test: N95 fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually. Must be completed prior to start; no onsite testing available.
- Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation: Required if fit test is required.
- MMR: Documentation of two measles, two mumps, and one rubella vaccine or two MMR vaccines, or proof of immunity via blood test.
- Hepatitis B: Strongly preferred; record of 3 vaccines or proof of immunity or declination.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30). No exemptions allowed.
- TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start date; updated if break >6 months.
- Health Statement: Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date; updated if break >6 months.
- Tdap: Preferred within last 10 years.
- Positive PPD - Negative Chest X-Ray: If positive TB test, chest x-ray documentation required.
- TB Symptom Survey: Required if positive PPD, updated annually.

- Candidates with last names A-L are requested to apply for this order. Separate order exists for last names M-Z.
- No religious exemptions for fit testing or influenza vaccine.
- Fit testing updates can be done at select locations if assignment is extended.
