Travel RN ICU Position - New York (Float Pool)
Overview
- Position is part of a Float Pool providing flexible staffing across six facilities within a healthcare network.
- Requires highly skilled nurses capable of managing full patient loads independently.
- Nurses must be adaptable, flexible, and able to work across various units and facilities.
- Daily floating between facilities and units is expected.
- Shift assignments are typically given about 2 hours before the shift starts.
- Mid-shift floating may occur based on operational needs.
Facilities Covered
- Multiple hospitals ranging from 23 to 180 beds, including acute care, emergency, inpatient, outpatient, and critical access facilities.
- Locations include Cooperstown, Oneonta, Sidney, Delhi, Little Falls, and Cobleskill, NY.
- Facilities offer a variety of services such as med/tele, med/surg, emergency departments, stepdown, ICU, and rehab.
Float Pool Options & Responsibilities
1. Med/Tele Float Pool
- Support med/tele and med/surg units across all facilities.
- Units include med/tele, inpatient surgery, observation, and critical access hospitals.
- Must handle full scope of patient care independently.
2. ED/Med Tele Float Pool
- Support med/tele units and emergency departments network-wide.
- Med/tele experience preferred; ED experience is a bonus but not required.
- Must adapt quickly to different units and settings.
3. Critical Care Float Pool
- Support stepdown and ICU units across the network.
- Strong critical care background required.
- ED experience highly preferred.
- Must float between critical access and ICU facilities.
Contract Length
- 9 weeks
Required Credentials & Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- Nursys verification
- License/Certificate verification
- Bassett Core Competencies, Unit Exam, and Skills Checklist
- MMR, Fit Test, Hepatitis B, Influenza Vaccine, TB Test, Varicella, Annual TB Questionnaire, Physical/Health Statement
- Driver's License/State ID
- Professional references (2)
- Criminal background check
- Resume submission
- Webchecks and Sex Offender Registry checks (national and state)
- Education and employment verification
- Drug screen
- Completion of Bassett Client Forms including Security Credentials Acknowledgement and Confidentiality Agreement
