Surgical Technician Job Opportunity

Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)

Job Description

• Provide intra-operative care to patients of all ages undergoing surgical procedures.
• Assist in operations under supervision of physicians, registered nurses, and surgical personnel.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining the sterile field in the operating room.
• Prepare the operating room by collecting necessary supplies and equipment.
• Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons while functioning within the sterile field.
• Surgical specialties include ENT, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Pain Management, Ophthalmology, Urology, OB/Gynecology, and Endoscopy procedures.
• Additional call hours are required.

Required Qualifications

• License: Must hold a valid Surgical Technician certification/license as required for the position.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA or ARC accepted).
• Experience: Minimum years of experience not explicitly stated; refer to recruiter for specifics.
• Health and Compliance:

  • Drug screen within 30 days of start (9-panel, THC not required).
  • COVID-19 vaccine (declination accepted).

• Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license or state ID current throughout assignment.
  • Completion of skills checklist within 12 months.
  • Completion of OSHA questionnaire.
  • Annual influenza vaccine or facility declination (due by December 1 annually).
