Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Technician (Travel)

Location: Austin, Texas
Facility Type: Level 1 Trauma Center (Multi-Modality Cath Lab: IR/Neuro/Trauma/CV and Vascular)
Shift: Day shift with weeknight and weeknight call required
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Key Job Details

• Work in a high-acuity environment supporting interventional radiology, neurology, trauma, cardiovascular, and vascular procedures.
• Travel assignment with a defined contract length of approximately 13 weeks.
• Weeknight shifts and on-call responsibilities are required.

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (AHA certified)
• Current professional license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start
• Ascension Specialty Exam (competency exam in specialty, minimum 80% passing score)
• Ascension Core Competencies (includes HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score)
• Ascension Medical Imaging Contract Worker Onboarding Education Attestation
• Valid Driver’s License or State ID (must not be expired and must meet address requirements)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Fit Test (preferred prior to start, required annually)
• Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza vaccine (seasonal; exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
• Positive PPD with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire or equivalent TB testing (2-step PPD or IGRA)
• Varicella immunity documentation or vaccination (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• Health statement or completed physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually
• 12 Panel Drug Screen completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually

Professional & Employment Verification

• Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile)
• At least two professional references prior to first assignment
• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other screenings within 30 days of assignment start
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start
• Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
• Confirmation of assignment documentation on agency letterhead
• Third-party employment verification for the past seven years

Additional Requirements

• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical competency checklist, updated annually)
• Ascension Employment Verification (updated annually)

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Technicians who meet the credentialing and health requirements and are comfortable with travel assignments in a high-acuity trauma center setting with on-call responsibilities.
