Job Opportunity: RN Circulator for the OR

Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Specialty: RN Surgery (Operating Room Circulator)

Job Description

• Minimum of 3 years recent full-time experience as an OR RN circulator in a high-volume hospital setting required.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in orthopedic procedures.
• Candidates with less experience or requiring extensive onboarding will not be considered.
• Must provide verifiable professional references.
• Ability to function independently in a fast-paced surgical environment and "hit the ground running."
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shift (8 hours), with call coverage required for the main OR after normal business hours and on weekends.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Minimum of 3 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Orthopedics experience

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete and maintain the following prior to and during assignment:

• Professional resume/profile submission.
• Current nursing license verification (primary source verification within 30 days prior to start).
• Background checks including criminal history and employment verification.
• Specialty competency exam with a minimum passing score (updated every 3 years).
• Core competencies training (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.) with required passing scores.
• Health and immunization documentation including:

  • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Tdap vaccine (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine (optional, with mask requirement if declined during flu season)
  • Tuberculosis screening (2-step PPD or IGRA, chest x-ray if positive)
  • Fit testing for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start)
  • Drug screening (12-panel, within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter)
• Completion of onboarding education attestations and training modules.
• Driver’s license or state ID (valid and matching address requirements).

• Must be prepared for a fast-paced surgical environment with orthopedic focus.
• Call coverage includes after-hours and weekend responsibilities.
