Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Roanoke, Virginia
• Day shift: 4x10s, 7:30 AM–6:00 PM, plus call
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Up to 26 weeks available by request

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Virginia
• Cath Lab Technologist (1 year of experience)
• Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures (LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temp pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, Mitraclip)
• Scrub experience
• Dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation
• Hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience in diagnostic/interventional cath lab settings using fluoro
• Experience with Epic

Required Clinical Experience / Skills

• Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures, including LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temp pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip
• Scrub experience
• Sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response protocols
• Experience in diagnostic/interventional cath lab settings using fluoro
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply management

Scheduling / Call

• Each clinician is expected to take 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts within every 6-week period
• One full weekend of call (Fri through Sun) must be scheduled together
• Remaining weekday call shifts (Mon through Thurs) can be taken individually throughout the cycle
• One Saturday shift for elective cases is required during each 6-week period
• Must be available to work or take call one holiday per 13-week contract
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Unit Details

• Adult patients
• 6 procedure rooms
• Daily census of 15–20
• Common diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and atrial septal defect/patent foramen ovale closures
• Advanced procedures include TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, Cardiomems, thrombectomy, mitral clips, renal denervation, and research protocols
• Equipment includes IABP, Impella, Penumbra, Rotapro, CSI, Shockwave, laser, OCT, and IVUS
