CVICU Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Dayton, Ohio
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
• 36-hour or 48-hour shifts available
• Target patient ratio: 1:2
• Unit typically runs 1:2 in a 36-bed unit
• Navy Blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• CVICU (1 year of experience)
• CVICU experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience working with Post-Operative Open Heart patients
• Experience working with Post Cardiac Cath patients
• Experience with Impella
• Experience caring for post-cardiac surgery patients not directly from the OR
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and intervention
• Experience with pulmonary artery (PA) catheters
• Experience with thermodilution
• Ability to read and interpret EKG strips
• Experience with arterial lines
• Experience with ventilator management
• Experience with Epic
• Must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting
• Ohio licensure verification required
• Current resume/application required
• Government-issued photo ID required
• E-Verify required
• Proof of name change required if documents show a different name
• 7-year criminal background check required
• EPLS/GSA/SAM required
• HHS/OIG required
• Physical exam within 2 years of start
• Negative TB or chest X-ray required
• Drug screen required within 12 months prior to documentation due date
• Annual health questionnaire required
• Candidate agreement required
• References required
• Skills checklist required
• RespSafety clearance required within 1 year of start
• Current Nursys report required
• Available to work every other weekend/holiday

Preferred

• Level 1 Trauma experience
• Travel experience

Floating

• First to float at discretion
• May float in and out of specialty clusters
• If assigned to MVH, may float to main campus, south campus, or north campus

Additional Notes

• First-time travelers accepted
• Ohio license does not need to be in hand at signing
• For 48-hour contracts, overtime is paid after 48 hours
• RTO must be requested with initial submittal; none added after offer
