Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Brooklyn, New York
• Inpatient Pediatrics
• Day shift: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm
• No weekends or holidays
• Covers FTE LOA through 01/17/2027
• 35 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and graduation from an accredited ultrasound technology program
• RDMS
• RDCS
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Cardiac Sonographer (1 year of experience)
• Cardiac Sonographer experience within the last year
• Pediatric Echocardiography experience

Preferred

• Locals preferred within 75 miles of the facility

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic testing and explain tests to patients
• Perform 2-dimensional plus M-Mode echocardiograms with or without Doppler
• Prepare reports for physicians
• Operate and maintain computerized and electronic equipment
• Maintain lab supplies and sterile supplies
• Participate in education related to the pediatric residency program
• Instruct other personnel on the clinical and technical parts of cardio echo testing procedures
• Participate in cross training
• Review patient data and consult with a physician as needed before starting cardiac procedures
• Review test results and report results according to policy and procedure
• Review questionable results with the physician-in-charge before release
• Assist with records and monthly statistics
• Maintain equipment and materials in proper order and keep the laboratory area orderly and safe
• Assist with stock and supply inventory
• Schedule patient tests
• Assist with supervisory duties in the absence of senior personnel
• Perform other assigned special projects and duties
