Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Dallas, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Requirements
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner within the last year
Required Licenses and Certifications
- Current and valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must renew with AHA only)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must renew with AHA only)
- Education Verification for RRT credentialing is required
- Copy of a valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport) matching all documentation
Additional Certifications (as applicable)
- Some units may require additional certifications; verify with the specific unit job description if applicable.
Compliance and Documentation
- Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in the last 7 years
- Sex offender search
- State police investigation for behavioral health (if applicable)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- E-Verify or Attestation required
- Physical Exam: Within 12 months of start
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (rapid screens not accepted)
- Immunizations and Health Requirements:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required
- Negative TB test (TSpot or QGold) within 12 months of start; annual updates required
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella, and Hepatitis B (vaccine series and positive titer or signed declination form)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Fit Mask Test: Completed onsite during orientation; updated annually
Competency Exams and Testing
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Must pass with 80% or higher; two attempts allowed
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for applicable specialties; two attempts allowed
- Candidates must complete all required competency exams within 30 days of start
Other Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport-style, head and shoulders, clear background)
- Completion of facility-specific forms prior to start (e.g., job description acknowledgment, internet access form)
- Two professional references within the last 3 years
Work Conditions
- Weekends and holidays are required
- Local rate within 90 miles
