Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Location: Kerrville, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Unit: Medical Surgical (MS RN) – Unit 2W
• Patient ratio: 1:5
• Schedule: 4/4 week schedule with weekend requirements

  • 8 weekend shifts in 4 weeks
  • Day shift weekends: Saturday/Sunday
  • Night shift weekends: Friday/Saturday nights
  • Must be available to work 4 of the 8 weekend shifts
• Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 18:45–7:15)
• Floating required to Unit 3W and other units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• E-Verify compliance
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year search (county, SS trace, nationwide sex offender)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM (annual)
  • HHS/OIG (annual)
• Education verification
• Primary source verification of state RN license
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests (score 80% or above)
• Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement

Health & Immunization Requirements (Time Sensitive – Must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual requirement)
• Vaccinations or documented immunity/declination for:

  • Hepatitis B
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
